Iranian Intelligence Disrupts Foreign-Backed Terror Plot, Seizes U.S.-Made Weapons Across Multiple Provinces

Iran's intelligence Ministry announced it has successfully dismantled what it described as a major foreign-backed terrorist network, following a series of coordinated security raids that uncovered a large cache of U.S.-made weapons and explosive materials hidden in residential locations across the country.

According to Iran Intelligence Ministry, the operation led to the discovery of firearms, ammunition, and improvised explosive device (IED) components, including more than 200 kilograms of high-grade explosives. Officials said the weapons were concealed inside multiple safe houses operated by organized “cell members” linked to hostile foreign intelligence services.

Iranian authorities stated that the groups behind the cache maintained direct connections to the United States and Israel, accusing both governments of backing covert efforts to destabilize Iran through violence, assassinations, and sabotage.

The Intelligence Ministry said the seized materials were intended for use during the wave of armed unrest that erupted in late December 2025. Officials described the plot as an attempt to escalate street violence, target key individuals, and create widespread insecurity under the cover of civil disturbances.

Raids were conducted in several provinces, with particular focus on the southeastern city of Zahedan, where authorities identified and neutralized seven active safe houses. Security forces reported that the operation was carried out with precision to minimize risk to civilians.

Iranian officials emphasized that the operation demonstrates the country’s intelligence capabilities and its commitment to protecting national security against what it calls ongoing hybrid warfare tactics — including terrorism, sabotage, and psychological operations — directed by foreign adversaries.

The Intelligence Ministry reaffirmed that Iran will continue to confront external threats decisively and warned that any attempt to undermine the country’s stability will be met with swift and firm action.

U.S. and Israeli officials have not responded publicly to the allegations.
