Kim Davis No Longer Alone - 30 Judges In North Carolina Refusing Homosexual Marriage

More than 30 magistrates in North Carolina have refused to

Senator Phil Berger
perform weddings. But thanks to a new state law, they were able to do so legally.

Right after the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage in June, the state passed a law allowing officials to opt out of performing all marriages.

The law exempts court officials with a “sincerely held religious objection” and is designed for those opposing gay marriage.

The law’s original sponsor, Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger, said it’s probably preventing situations like the one in Kentucky.

“It’s keeping folks from having to choose between their job and their religious beliefs. I think that’s important,” he said.

Berger said so far the law hasn’t caused any problems.

“I think the law is working very well,” he said.

  1. The problem can be resolved once and for all by abolishing the state issued marriage licenses. The government has created the right of choice to get married into a privilege by converting this liberty into an unlawful mandate to garner a state issued marriage license.

    1. Very good point. But, their needs to be something in place to guard against abuses. If marriage licenses are taken out if the hands of the state a monster like Warren Jeffs could have a field day.

    2. Why are States regulating a Religious Rite? Just Say No To Marriage Licenses.

  2. The American pioneers managed to get married and survive without a state issued marriage license? And, they managed to marry without paying the state a marriage license fee to boot!
The Pastors, Priests, Rabbi's and the Justices of the Peace married people and then gave the couples a Marriage Certificate without the inclusion of paying for a state issued Marriage License.

    1. You mean like Ovomit being lawless? like ignoring the federal drug laws or using the IRS to target conservative groups or ignoring the immigration laws..that kind of lawlessness?

    2. I was thinking more like Warren Jeffs kind of lawlessness. In many states you have to provide documents that you can get married. That there is no close blood relation and you are of legal age. Take that away and President Obama will be your least worry.

    2. As far as I know the SCOTUS can not make law only rulings. The Congress is the body that makes law, and since the states in question have had votes by the people opposing gay marriage then this is retaliation by those trying to push an agenda and telling us that we no longer matter and that they no better what is good for society. BS. And since Obama has already decided that DOMA would not be enforced it is real easy to see who is behind this

    3. So true, that,s what I have been telling the freaks that have been attacking,Kim Davis. I put it in Country laymans terms, but the truth will light up the world,no matter how you say it. The supreme court just made up that law out of thin air, because it could,nt be in the Constitution, because the men who wrote it,would,nt had no idea that gays would be getting married some day.Beside,s the Congress is the only entity that can legally made laws and State the Constitutions can,t legally be overrode by the Fed courts,I done give a dam what there lawyers say.BS and they know it,stand up Americans please and God is still with us.

    4. Yes,T Ritchie you are right ,the supreme count does not have the right to make laws, like they did in this case and a few recent others they made up lately. Beside,s the men that wrote and passed the US Constitution would have not had any idea that gays would someday want to get married and they know it.BS. In laymens term they just made this law up out of thin air,and they know it. Besides that the Federal courts don,t have the right to rewrite a States Constitution.BS all the way and I know that they know it,thats what is so bad. Lets stand up Americans, and be heard, before its to late,we still have a small window of time left, before we have total tyranny in this country.

    6. I totally agree, child support laws are the same way, NC constitutional signings abolished debtors prison, but feds mr bush agenda over writes this state constitutions and prisons fathers for a debt owed to the states. Now we have the supreme institutions creating laws as we go. Tyrranny is already here, not just in demon's (democrats) world but as well as republicans turns into a bunch of jackass's to allow this to happen without a fight.

  8. So true, United States is supposed to be democratic. .. govern by the people NOT by the courts. We need to stand our ground and refuse to let the courts tell us what we can and can't do.

  10. These government officials are unconstitutionally denying the rights of American citizens to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These people are citizens of the United States of America first and foremost, over being residents of these states and counties. They should all be jailed if they refuse to do their jobs or leave their job.

    2. Why should they l9se their jobs when this is a country that is supposed to be run by the majority, not the minority... we should be able to vote on things like this and areas that want to allow it....... but not all of us want immorality in our or our children's faces. If we as Believers do not stand up against the sin (hate the sin, not the sinner adage) then we can only blame ourselves. Resist the (evil and it must flee) not the people just the sin. God/ Christ calls us to LOVE, but not accept!

    9. Let every person be subject to the Governing Authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been INSTITUTED BY GOD. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. Romans 13: 1-5 (so basically follow the law...for they are through God that they have been made) She didn't.

This is what the little inarticulate clerk in Kentucky needs to say:

The Constitution of Kentucky defines marriage. There are no federal law that defines marriage. I am an officer of the State of Kentucky and not the United States. I did, in fact pledge to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and am pleased to tell you that I have read it. I made a similar pledge to support the Kentucky Constitution. And being literate I find no definition of marriage in the US Constitution or in the duly enacted laws of the United State that I am obliged to respect having taken an oath to support that instrument. I have never taken an oath to support the judicial decisions of the Supreme Court any more than I have taken an oath to do the bidding of the President of the United States or the Congress in Washington. I support and defend the Constitution. I point out to those less informed than myself, I am not a judge. I am a clerk. My boss is the Governor of Kentucky. And the people of Rowan County. In addition I do not and cannot recognize the Federal Courts as a proper institution for requiring any action contrary to the express language found in the laws of Kentucky. My pledge is first to the express language of the Kentucky Constitution. Under no construction am I obligated to follow the dictates of men. In my country, we are ruled by laws and not opinions. I am under no legal requirement to bring my conscience into conformity to decisions or legal decision that clearly are neither constitutional, under the laws of Kentucky or the United States.
Federal Court decisions do not have the same power as do express state laws or the Constitution of the United States. If state laws are offensive to the US Constitution, then any directed injunction should properly and boldly be served on the Governor or Legislature and/or the people of the state of Kentucky. I do not believe that any court has such magisterial power. Therefore, I am obliged to support the laws of Kentucky and the US Constitution. Under no legal or logical construction can my obligations to these instruments and to the people of Kentucky be usurped by any power asserted by a single branch of the federal government, certainly, not the unelected Supreme Court. There is a difference here that is too obvious to explain.

  17. The SCOTUS did not legalize gay marriage, they merely issued an opinion. That opinion only has the force of law if we allow it to alter our behavior.

Only Congress may create legislation. DOMA is still in effect at the national level and state laws are still in effect at the state level. All any SCOTUS ruling has ever done is to say that if a similar case should come before the SCOTUS they will probably settle it the same way.

In addition, since this ruling was made contrary to both the Supreme law of the land (aka the US Constitution) and established court procedures it should not be treated as law by the citizenry if we do not wish to encourage judicial tyranny.

  19. Psalm 1New King James Version (NKJV)
    BOOK ONE: Psalms 1—41
The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly
    1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
    Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
    Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
