Uber has sent notice to their customers of their
"surge" pricing for New Year's Eve
The surge pricing is where riders will expect to pay a lot more for their trip than normal hours.
Uber says they require the surge pricing on busy nights so they can get enough
cars on the road.
Uber said they expect the highest demand and
highest fares to be between 12:30-2:30 a.m. That's when fares will be the
highest.
If you plan on using Uber tonight to avoid high fairs don't
request a ride during those two hours. Instead, they say to catch a ride right
when the ball drops at midnight, or wait a couple of hours until prices return
to normal.
