Houston Floods: Message From God?

Anise Parker and her partner
Could God be sending us a message and no one is listening?  On May 28th of 2014, openly lesbian Houston Mayor Annise Parker signed the controversial Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) into law.
The Houston Chronicle described the ordinance thusly:

The measure bans discrimination based not just on sexual orientation and gender identity but also, as federal laws do, sex, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, religion, disability, pregnancy and genetic information, as well as family, marital or military status.

This ordinance unlawfully punished those for practicing their faith beliefs of marriage between a man and woman and that anything other than that was a sin and in some faiths not just a sin, but mortal sin.  In addition it prevented those with faith believes or any sense of morality from expressing themselves.

The ordinance applies to businesses that serve the public, private employers, housing, city employment and city contracting. Violators could be fined up to $5,000.

On August 7th, 2014, HERO was placed on hold after opponents of the ordinance filed suit against the city with the help of the Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative Christian legal advocacy group focused largely on opposing same-sex marriage and abortion. The following month city attorneys subpoenaed sermons given by local pastors who oppose the law and are tied to the conservative Christian activists who have sued the city.

The  subpoenas a were an infringement on religious liberties, they were intended to "punish and intimidate those who dared to step-up and oppose the city council," and that the specific and seemingly unrelated nature of the subpoenaed material suggests the discovery investigation is really about a crackdown on political or anti-homosexual and anti-abortion preaching in city churches.

Now May of 2015 Houston, Texas and surrounding communities are seeing record flooding of unprecedented proportions. Houston has been the bullseye of this storm system receiving the most rain per the National Weather Service.

Girl Scouts: Being A Girl Optional, God Is Optional, Our Flag Is Optional

Being a girl is about to become optional for future Girl Scouts. The organization will now accept boys if who consider themselves a girl, bringing the transgender debate into the forefront.

Speaking with my brother-in-law yesterday at church, he is trying desperately to keep this nonsense away from his younger girls.

They are starting to ask questions from things they see on TV.  Such as why and how a man, Bruce Jenner, is becoming a woman.

Curriculum that the Girl Scouts teach is also concerning.

The Girl Scouts USA curriculum now reads, "Girl Scouts of the USA makes no attempt to define or interpret the word "God" in the Girl Scout Promise.  It looks to individual members to establish for themselves the nature of their spiritual beliefs.  When making the Girl Scout promise, individuals may substitute wording appropriate to their own beliefs for the word "God."

While many will argue that Girl Scouts is simply respecting the beliefs or non-beliefs of its members, who come from varied backgrounds, this "tolerant" oath denies the One True God, allowing a girl to swear her oath to a tree or an animal or anything else she chooses to substitute for the word "God."

What is also disturbing is  the treatment of our nation's flag at the 2008 Girl Scout National Council Session and Convention.  The traditional flag ceremony was trashed, as was the playing of our National Anthem.  Flags of all nations were brought in bunched together to Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire tunes.  That just doesn't' sit well with this Army wife.

My greatest concern lies with the Girl Scouts curriculum called "Journeys."  This new program steadily leads the girls down a path of moral relativism toward the New Age.  (An excellent review of "Journeys" can be read here.)  Having read through the highlights on the Girl Scouts website, I'm left with the distinct impression I've just joined a Zen-yoga, environmental, defeat global warming, free choice, girl-power, modern feminist think-tank.  There's lots of talk about "women's issues", environmental issues, empowerment, and the new "globalism", but no mention of God and very little of country.

By the time the girls reach grades nine and ten, they are introduced to "Girltopia."  This book emphasizes the disparity between the sexes, particularly when it comes to jobs and wages, and asks, "How could everyone create a Girltopia?"  The text then praises three different books on the subject of utopias, including, "The Gate to Women's Country," by feminist author Sheri S. Tepper, who also happens to be the Executive Director of Rocky Mountain Planned Parenthood.

In grades 11 and 12, the curriculum is called "Your Voice, Your World: The Power of Advocacy."  The most disturbing part is that at the bottom of each page is a "Voice for Good"  featuring women meant to be role models for the girls to follow.  More than 50 women are named, and only 3 are women of faith, including Mother Teresa.

Mainly, these "role models" are feminists, lesbians, existentialists, communists, and Marxists.  Here are just a few examples:

Elizabeth Gurley Flynn:  labor leader, activist, feminist, founding member of the ACLU and chairwoman of the American Communist Party.

Simone de Beauvoir: existentialist, French author of feminist books including The Second Sex, key player in France's women's liberation movement.

Billie Jean King: retired tennis champion, sued for palimony by lesbian girlfriend while she was still married, first prominent professional athlete to come out as homosexual.

Most disturbing of all is Girl Scouts associations with Planned Parenthood.  In 2004, CEO Kathy Cloninger admitted that they partner with PP to bring sex-education programs to troops all over the country.  Planned Parenthood has no interest in abstinence.  It doesn't benefit their bottom line for teenagers to wait for marriage to have sex.  They are financially invested in promiscuity and all the destructive consequences it brings, especially abortion.  And now it seems Girl Scouts' vision of sexual health and freedom mirrors Planned Parenthood's.  Is that your vision for your daughter?

If you want your daughter to learn the skills of a Girl Scout while keeping her love of herself, God and Country, I would suggest American Heritage Girls.

BLACK MICHIGAN PASTORS SAY REPUBLICANS WHO FILED BRIEF SUPPORTING GAY MARRIAGE ARE RACIST

Pastor Stacy Swimp, Revive Alive Ministries
Are Republican's that filed a brief supporting gay marriage racist? Many black pastor's in Michigan seem to think so.

Pastor Stacy Swimp, of Revive Alive Ministries-Flint, Michigan, took aim at the hypocrisy of the Republicans in question.  Here is what he wrote on his Facebook status:

Detroit, Michigan, June 19th, 2014- A coalition of Republicans, which includes a national activist opposed to affirmative action for Blacks, as well as a former Michigan Speaker of the House- who initially pushed for a ban on marriage redefinition- have filed a brief in the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals supporting the March 21 ruling that briefly struck down Michigan’s voter approved Marriage Protection Amendment.

“As conservatives, moderates and libertarians we embrace the individual freedoms protected by our Constitution,” said Rick Johnson, the former GOP speaker who paved the way for the gay marriage issue to make its way to the 2004 statewide ballot.

“We embrace Ronald Reagan’s belief that the Republican Party must be a ‘big tent.’ We believe in the importance of limited government, individual freedom and stable families. We believe that these values are advanced by recognizing civil marriage rights for same-sex couples.” Jennifer Gratz, who led the efforts to ban affirmation action at the University of Michigan, has also joined the Republicans in seeking to redefine marriage.

Gratz states "I am against special preferences based on race, gender, ethnicity, national origin, and sexual orientation- namely for heterosexuals." Pastors from a coalition of over 200 Black Pastors and Christian leaders from outstate Michigan take issue with the Republicans who fought against affirmation action for Blacks, yet fight for special preferences for homosexuals and lesbians. "Mrs. Gratz is obviously confused as she desires to defend the rights of the approximate 1.4% homosexual population at the expense of the 98.6% heterosexual population.

Perversion has never been acceptable in a moral society, but now she desires to see it not only be accepted, but also promoted in our judicial system, schools and halls of higher education ultimately receiving special privileges. Is that not what she just fought against? Sure makes one wonder the thinking processes of Mrs. Gratz."- Pastor Rodney McTaggert, Bread of Life Ministries, Saginaw, Michigan

"How ironic that so called Republicans, whose party platform allegedly advocates the constitutional principles of limited government, would file a brief in support of marriage redefinition, which has attached to it the nefarious agenda of discriminating against the individual freedom of Christians who decline to endorse homosexual behavior." - Stacy Swimp

The pastors say that discrimination against Christians is the direct consequence of marriage redefinition, citing an incident where owners of a Christian bakery -who refused to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple- were found "guilty" of violating the so called civil rights of a lesbian couple, because the bakers' religious conscience would not permit them to make a cake dedicated to marriage between two women.

The pastors also believe that racism is at the heart of the agenda of the Republicans who fought against affirmative action and so called special preferences for Black Americans, but are now advocating special preferences for homosexuals and lesbians.

"Republicans, such as Jennifer Gratz and Leon Drolet- who ran the anti-affirmative action campaign in Michigan and Arizona- have revealed themselves as morally bankrupt racists. This is demonstrated by their focus on gutting civil rights for Blacks and replacing them with special preferences for homosexuals. "- Pastor Leonard Jackson, Beth-El Community- Church of God in Christ, Detroit, Michigan Pastor Jackson says that there has always been a correlation between racism and the homosexual agenda. "I vividly recall that, when the voter approved Marriage Protection Amendment passed in California, LGBT activists spewed all kinds of racial epithets at Black homosexuals, as they blamed the Black community- which voted 70-30 for traditional marriage- for the failed bid to redefine marriage. Black homosexuals in California learned that the homosexual culture was racist. So it comes as no surprise that the same people who fought against affirmative action for Blacks would fight for special preferences for homosexuals"- Pastor Leonard Jackson concluded.

The pastors say they are not in the least discouraged or dismayed by the Republicans who have joined in to redefine marriage. "Imagine if our forefathers had started out with the same abominable, despicable concept of marriage as these groups have today. We would have no society.", states Elder Dr. Rader Johnson, Greater Bibleway Temple, Bay City, Michigan. "So I say to those who promote this wayward anti-Christ agenda of marriage redefinition to cease and desist your destructive, confused, anti-social concept of family. If you won't, we are prepared to fight against you for the purpose of preserving our God given traditional marriage!'

As previously reported , according to  Macomb Daily Political Reporter Chad Selweski , in his Sept 1st 2013 report, and Joel Kurth's editorial in theDetroit News on May 14, 2013 it is noted that  Leon Drolet is known as a gay man.

It is also known that Jennifer Gratz, who led the fight against affirmative action policies at the University of Michigan but now is a permanent resident of Fort Myers Florida.
