Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has been hospitalized with a blood
clot in his right leg. This follows Snyder moving around on scooter for about a month
after tearing his Achilles tendon while
jogging.
Snyder;s spokeswoman Sara Wurfel says the 56-year-old Republican
was admitted to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital near Ann Arbor late Thursday morning.
Snyder had noticed swelling in his leg. Doctors determined it was a blood clot.
Snyder is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon he injured
while vacationing in Florida.
Sara Wurfel says Snyder is "doing well" and is in
"good hands." It is expected that he will be hospitalized through the
weekend.
It is reported that Snyder is canceling appearances in coming days
but still planning to propose his budget to lawmakers next week.
He has been in a protective boot and using a scooter to get
around.
