The city government of Santa Fe Springs in California is
demanding that the backyard playset of a little girl with special needs be
destroyed. The Miranda family says that the swings were a gift from the
Make-A-Wish foundation, given to her because her seizure disorder makes it
impossible for Tiffany to play in a public park.
The little girl’s mom Jessica Torres complained to the city
when they asked her to take it down. When I asked the city, ‘So where do you
expect my daughter to play?’ they said ‘Well, the city’s not responsible for
your daughter’s disability,’” Torres said. “They said ‘Your Tiffany is not our
problem.’”
