wishing Former Governor William Milliken a happy birthday.  He served as Governor of Michigan under the Republican Party from 1969 to 1983. 

Milliken hasn't always been the best Republican.  As Governor many thought he was to progressive and

In 2004, Milliken endorsed Democrat John Kerry for President. In 2008, it was Republican John McCain. Although he withdrew it just a few weeks before the election.

And,this last election-cycle, Milliken has endorsed Democrat Gary Peters for U.S. Senate and Democrat Mark Totten for Attorney General over Terri Lynn Land and Bill Schuette respectively.

When asked on Fox 2 Detroit's show "Let it Rip" about why Milliken endorsed Gary Peters and Mark Totten , former Michigan Republican Party Chairman said that Milliken was irrelevant.

Harry Reid Set To Retire At End Of Current Term

Long term liberal Nevada Senator Harry Reid has announced

that he is retiring.  He told the newspaper that his decision to retire from the Senate was not due to a recent accident or his party’s loss of control of the chamber in the November congressional elections.

Reid was elected to the Senate in 1986, Reid previously served in the House. He has endured tough re-election battles in 1998, 2004 and most recently 2010 -- against Tea Party-backed candidate Sharron Angle.

Among other things, Reid will be remembered for allowing the so-called "nuclear option" in late 2013, where he unilaterally moved to change Senate rules to allow a simple majority vote to overcome filibusters for certain nominations. While procedural, the change was significant because it meant the Senate no longer needed the usual 60 votes to advance on controversial nominations.

Details on Pilot That Crashed the GermanWings Plane Into The French Alps

Andreas Lubitz was the co-pilot of Germanwings flight 9525 who reportedly intentionally crashed the plane into the French Alps and killed all 150 people on board.

Here’s what we know:

1. Andreas Lubitz, 28, was German national from Montabaur, Germany.

2. He joined Germanwings in September 2013.

3. He had 630-hours logged as a co-pilot.

4. He allegedly locked the pilot out of the cockpit when the pilot went to use the restroom.

5. He can be heard calmly breathing on the blackbox as flight 9525 descended and crashed into the French Alps.

Was Germanwings Flight 9525 Taken Out By Terrorism Or A Professional Hit?

Was it a professional hit or terrorism?  

The mystery that investigators are trying to  unravel on what caused the crash of Germanwings Flight 9525 have made a startling discovery in an audio recording, according to a New York Times report: One of the plane's pilots was locked out of the cockpit before the crash.

"You can hear he is trying to smash the door down," a senior military official involved in the investigation told the newspaper, describing audio from the cockpit voice recorder, one of the plane's black boxes.

"We don't know yet the reason why one of the guys went out," the official said, according to the Times' report. "But what is sure is that at the very end of the flight, the other pilot is alone and does not open the door."

What is also interesting is that one of the passengers worked for the U.S. Pentagon. One of the  Identified victims were Yvonne Selke of Nokesville, Va., an employee for 23 years at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. in D.C., and her daughter, Emily Selke, a recent graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia. The U.S. government did not identify the third American it said was on the plane.

Yvonne Selke performed work under contract with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon's satellite mapping office, Booz Allen and the Defense Department confirmed in statements after the AP had reported her identity and employment.

Adding to the suspicion of foul play is that the second "black box," the flight data recorder, was found but without any of its contents. The crash apparently dislodged the recorder's memory card which is still missing

Planned Parenthood’s net revenue increased 5% to total of $1.21 billion in its organizational fiscal year ending on June 30, 2013, according to its Annual Report 2012-2013, and about 45% of that revenue--$540.6 million--was provided by taxpayer-funded government health services grants.

In the same report, Planned Parenthood said that in the year that ended on Sept. 30, 2012 it did 327,166 abortions.

Clinics in Iowa, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Montana and New Hampshire also received $655,192 in grants from the Department of Health and Human Services to serve as Obamacare “navigators.”

As a Christian, my tax dollars are being used against what I believe.  Human life begins at conception and Planned Parenthood has been dubbed by many as the “Abortion Mill”.

Now Planned Parenthood is getting further involved in partisan politics by attacking Senator Ted Cruz, who announced yesterday that he is running for president.

Senator Cruz has many supporters and they are having their tax dollars used against their candidate of choice by Planned Parenthood.

It is time to cut Planned Parenthood's umbilical cord and end the taxpayer subsidies.   

Can Ted Cruz run for president if he was born in Canada?

Today Ted Cruz, the Republican senator from Texas, is announcing that he is running.   

Ted Cruz  whose full name is Rafael Edward Cruz --was born in Canada in 1970 as his father was working for the oil industry there. The senator’s recently released birth certificate shows his mother was born in Delaware and his father was born in Cuba. The Cruz family left Canada a few years later. Cruz grew up in Texas and graduated from high school there, later attending Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

He also took the extra step of renouncing the Canadian citizenship he said he didn't even know he had.

By virtue of his American-born mother, Cruz, 44, considers himself a natural born citizen and eligible to run for president.

So is he eligible? The majority of legal minds believe he is. 

Is there the tiniest sliver of uncertainty? Yes, there’s that, too.

Constitutional requirements for president

The Constitution says any candidate for president must be at least 35 years of age, a resident within the United States for 14 years and a "natural born citizen."

In 2008, people raised questions about the "natural born" citizenship status of both major party candidates.

As of all current legal records, Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and his mother was a U.S. citizen. His father was Kenyan.

Then there was John McCain, who was born in the Panama Canal Zone because his American father served in the military. McCain, the 2008 GOP nominee, saw his standing briefly challenged in court.

Interestingly, both of McCain’s potential Democratic opponents -- Obama and then-Sen. Hillary Clinton -- co-sponsored a Senate measure to settle McCain’s eligibility. The April 2008 resolution said, "John Sidney McCain, III, is a 'natural born Citizen' under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States."

Defining "natural born"

So what is a "natural born" citizen? The Constitution doesn’t specifically say.

 The consensus amongst many top constitutional scholars is  that someone is a "natural born" citizen if they have citizenship at birth and don’t have to go through a naturalization process to become a citizen.

If that’s the definition, then Cruz is a natural born citizen by being born to an American mother and having her citizenship at birth. (This same logic would apply to Obama, even if he were born in another country such as Kenya)

The Congressional Research Service published a report on the issue after the 2008 election; the agency is tasked with providing authoritative research to all members of Congress. It, too, supported the thinking that "natural born" citizenship means citizenship held "at birth."

But the Supreme Court -- the ultimate arbiter of constitutional questions -- has never ruled on the matter. And that means a note of uncertainty remains.

Solar Activity Controls Global Climate, Man Made Climate Change Is A Myth

Recent studies have shown results linking shifts in sunspot

frequency and climate changes over thousands of years suggest that the past 18-year-long period of flat global temperatures appear to be a prelude to a much longer cooling cycle. 

While causes behind these magnetic inconsistencies are uncertain, observable connections between solar and Earth climate patterns are clear. Reduced periods of sunspot activity correlate with cooler and very cold periods, with higher incidences producing opposite effects.

If a leading theory regarding why this occurs is correct, a weaker magnetic heliosphere surrounding our Solar System evidenced by low sunspot activity permits more cosmic rays from deep space to enter Earth’s protective magnetosphere and atmosphere. This increased flux of heavy electrons— or “muons” — striking the atmosphere produces increased cloud cover, in turn reflecting more solar radiation away from Earth and back to space.

Since none of this has anything to do with human-caused atmospheric CO2 emissions, you can bet that the UN and its Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are very cool on the theory and its chilling political science implications. It follows that since both the Sun and climate began changing billions of years before the Industrial Revolution, neither conditions can be blamed on fossil-fueled smokestacks and SUVs.

Dr Fritz Vahrenhold

A notable IPCC critic is Dr. Fritz Vahrenholt, a former leader of Germany’s environmental movement who also headed the renewable energy division of the country’s second largest utility company. He recently co-authored a book with Dr. Fritz Sebastian Luning titled, The Cold Sun: Why the Climate Disaster Won’t Happen.  –

Dr. Vahrenholt expects the world to get cooler in the future for three reasons: (1) we are or soon will be beginning on the downward flank of the Sun’s Gleissberg and Suess cycles; (2) solar activity during the next cycle may extend our current very weak one; and (3) ocean cycles will be in cooling phases over the next decades as well.

A research team in Sweden which analyzed patterns of solar activity at the end of the last Ice Age around 20,000 – 10,000 years ago concluded that changes in solar activity and their influences on climate are nothing new, especially on a regional level. An analysis of trace elements in ice cores in Greenland and cave formations from China revealed that Sweden was then covered by a thick ice sheet that stretched all the way down to northern Germany.

Water contained in those frozen ice caps resulted in sea levels which were more than 100 meters lower than at present.

Furthermore, the August 2014 study report’s co-author Dr. Raimund Muscheler, a lecturer in Quaternary Geology at Lund University, observes: “Reduced solar activity could lead to colder winters in Northern Europe. This is because the Sun’s UV radiation affects the atmospheric circulation. Interestingly, the same processes lead to warmer winters in Greenland, with greater snowfall and more storms.”

While the Sun was abnormally active during the 20th century, many scientists believe that this condition is now coming to an end. Although the Royal Observatory of Belgium’s July average monthly sunspot count increased slightly for the sixth straight month despite a rare mid-month spotless day, solar Cycle 24 still remains to be the weakest in 100 years.

It is predicted that increased counts may continue for a few more months before activity once again begins to fade. In fact, long-term indicators suggest that the next sunspot cycle will be much weaker than this one. If so, as with other extended periods of inactivity as occurred during Cycles 3, 4, and 5 which marked the beginning of a “Dalton Minimum,” we can expect the past 18 years of flat global temperatures to become significantly cooler.
