Dismal April Payroll Report, Job Participation Rate Lowest Since 1977

Contrary to what is coming from the Obama administration regarding the unemployment numbers
dropping the proof is in the pudding as they say with   what was an " unpleasant April jobs payrolls report as payrolls grew way less than expected and with a March revision dragging that month's job gain to the lowest level since June of 2012, the fact that the number of Americans not in the labor force rose once again, this time to 93,194K from 93,175K, with the result being a participation rate of 69.45 or just above the lowest percentage since 1977.

ADP's latest report showed payrolls grew by 169,000 in April. March's report was also revised lower to show payrolls grew by 175,000.

Expectations were for the report to show private payrolls grew by 200,000 in April, up from an increase of 189,000 in March.

ADP's report showed that the strongest job creation in April was seen from small businesses, with payrolls for companies with 49 or fewer employees growing by 94,000

The Obama administration touts 223,000 new jobs were created in April but only 169.000 were private sector, again showing that Government is continuing to grow and spend.

Push For Closed Republican Primary: Who is behind it and is there an ulterior motive?

Last night I made the following post on Facebook "Open or closed primary? Does it really make a difference? Pick your poison. With an open primary yes could get Establishment Republican's and/or moderate Republicans that despise Conservatives, to work with Democrats to give us a Moderate or RINO (Republican in name only) candidate. With a caucus or convention what is to say that again that Establishment Republicans /Moderate Republicans fill the delegate slates shutting out conservative Republicans and in turn pick another moderate or RINO candidate? By going the convention route you do shut out the general public and many donors. Will they be willing to donate, if you shut them out of the process?"
There seems to be a concern that with an open primary that an establishment candidate could get the nod in Michigan due to Democratic crossover vote.  Establishment Republican's in the past have courted Democrats to help them block conservatives from winning an election, such as the failed attempt last year in the 107th State Representative race between Chatfield and Foster

Now there is a push to close Michigan's Republican Presidential Primary, to prevent cross over vote.  But who is
Is John Yob of Strategic National working on a closed
Republican Primary to assure a Rand Paul Victory?
behind this push?  Many are saying John Yob of Strategic National, who is representing Rand Paul for President.

Rand Paul is a favorite amongst many Libertarians and their Group Campaign 4 Liberty, which also includes many Republican Conservatives.    While Libertarians, Conservatives and Republican's share the same fiscal conservative values, Libertarians are considered social liberals and many believe in deregulation of illegal drugs, and
Republican Presidential Hopeful Rand Paul
non-traditional marriage.

The push being put onto Conservatives is that they must have a closed primary to keep out the RINOs (Republican In Name Only) that would want to put a moderate Republican Candidate up, such as a Jeb Bush, by inviting crossover Democrat votes.

But having a closed primary doesn't prevent this either.  If the Republicans go the convention route and have delegates choose the next candidate, who is to say that the slates will not be fixed?  If the Establishment takes control of the voting slates, couldn't a Jeb Bush still be elected?

In the current push it is rumored that John Yob, and his firm Strategic National, believe that they could control the Slate of Delegates many of whom are borderline Libertarian to Libertarian to nominate Rand Paul.

Non-Libertarian conservatives are split between Rand Paul, Ben Carson and Ted Cruz.  The closed primary convention will surely kill Ben Carson's and Ted Cruz's chances here in Michigan.

So which direction should the Michigan Republican party choose?  An open primary or closed?

Hispanic Owned Restaurant To Hold White Persons Appreciation Day

Why is it that other ethnicities can be singled out and have their month, yet white's cannot?  Isn't racism a two way street?  We blame slavery, but in truth many slave owners where black and their were many white slaves as well, especially those with Irish decent.

So what started as a joke is now on the calendar. Edgar Antillon and Miguel Jimenez recently purchased Rubbin Buttz BBQ on Broad Street in Milliken, Colorado. On June 11, they plan to offer a 10% discount to all white customers and no one else.

"We have a whole month for black history month," Antillon said. "We have a whole month for Hispanic heritage month, so we thought the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate white Americans

On June 11, the Hispanic owners of a barbecue restaurant plan to offer a 10 percent discount to all white customers and no one else. Originally a joke, the owners have decided to go through with the idea, though they know it might anger some.

The men expect they might receive backlash and say they realize there's a history of racism in the USA.

"It's a perpetuation of racism," said Ricardo Romero, a civil rights activist and community organizer in Weld County. "It's wrong, if you're going to give a discount, give it to the whole community."

There could be legal repercussions as well, according to Jennifer McPherson of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.

"If someone felt like they were being discriminated against, they could come to the civil rights division and file a complaint in our office and we would investigate that," said McPherson.

Antillon says the discount isn't meant to discriminate, but instead bring people together. He added that he has been the target of racism in the past. He hopes opening up the discussion will prompt others to think differently about race.

"We're all American, whether you came from a different country or you were born here," Antillon said. "We're all American."

Antillon said he would consider offering a discount to other racial groups, but said it's unlikely to actually happen.

Canadian Panel OKs Nuclear Waste To Be Dumped Near Lake Huron

A Canadian environmental assessment decided that burying hazardous nuclear material near the shore of Lake Huron in a deep underground bunker is the best way to deal with the waste.

The report on the proposed deep geological repository or DGR that was released late Wednesday says it finds little risk to the lake.

The 430-page report concludes “the relative position of the proposed project within the spectrum of risks to the Great Lakes is a minor one, albeit one that demands strict attention and regulation.”

And it says the project “is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects”, but fall short of guaranteeing that there will be no environmental effects.

The proposal by Ontario Power Generation calls for hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of so-called low and intermediate level nuclear waste to be buried over 500 feet  underground in the bedrock at the Bruce nuclear plant near Kincardine, Ont.

Those for the disposal near Lake Huron argue the rock is geologically stable and would provide a hermetic seal to prevent any radioactivity reaching the lake about which is less than 1 mile away for tens of thousands of years.

While more than 152 communities have condemned the plan with many in the United States , the panel rejected one big concern: that the repository could also become home to the most dangerous high-level waste: the spent nuclear fuel that powers the reactors.

“A used fuel repository would have distinctive design requirements different than the DGR and would require a separate environmental assessment and licence application,” the report states.

Many however where not convinced.

Beverly Fernandez, with the group Stop The Great Lakes Nuclear Dump, expressed deep disappointment with the panel’s recommendation that the project be approved.

“This is an inter-generational, non-partisan issue that affects millions of Canadians and Americans,” Fernandez said.

“It is a decision that will affect the Great Lakes for the next 100,000 years (and) the last place to bury and abandon radioactive nuclear waste is beside the largest supply of fresh water on the planet.”

Keith Hobbs, the mayor of Thunder Bay, Ont., on the north shore of Lake Superior, says he “deeply dismayed” over what he calls a short-sighted decision.

“We owe future generations a safe water supply and have a responsibility to protect these assets. This decision cannot guarantee that, and that is a damn shame.”

The report concludes the “international consensus” is that burying the waste is preferable to storing it above-ground, as OPG has done for decades at the Bruce site, because the repository would be less vulnerable to natural and human-caused disasters.

It urges burying the waste as quickly as possible.

The panel’s recommendation has been given to the federal environment minister, who has four months to decide whether to approve the plan.

Also required will be consultations with area First Nations as well as further approvals before construction itself can begin.  OPG hopes will happen in 2018 with operations slated for 2025.

“Resolution of public concerns and anxiety regarding the project will rely not only on science, but on true engagement with citizens,” the report states.

FBI Leaves Woman To Defend Herself Against ISIS

Pamela Geller, who was targeted by terrorists in Texas over the weekend, says the FBI and the
Department of Homeland Security have yet to contact her after the thwarted attacked. She made the comments last night in an interview with Sean Hannity.

"This is a serious threat," said Hannity. "Basically a Fatwa, a death threat, has now been issued. Your reaction to that? Have you had any contact with the FBI?"

"They have not contacted me, but of course we've now increased my team. I have a team now, private security, and NYPD counterterror has been in touch with me," said Geller.

"Did you reach out to the FBI?"

"I did," Geller said

Hannity then asked, "Homeland Security hasn't gotten ahold of you, the FBI hasn't gotten ahold of you?"

"No, and this is interesting because this is a terrorist threat. And the FBI, President Obama should provide security. There's no question about it. Because he created an environment that raised the stakes on this," Geller said.

State Rep: We Can Fix Michigan's Roads With Out Raising Taxes

Representative Peter Lucido (R-District 36) was on the Frank Beckmann program today on WJR-
Peter Lucido
760AM  and he stated that former Gov. Engler did  tap into the INTEREST in the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA) fund to give the taxpayers a rebate when the fund had $5 billion in its account which now has over $18 billion in its account.

Taking interest money will NOT in any way draw from the MCCA's continuously growing PRINCIPLE that it receives through the taxpayers vehicle insurance premium payments.

Representative Lucido’s idea would nix Lansing from coming up with laying additional tax burdens on Michiganders.

Michiganders pay more for insurance than the rest of the country and 2 times more than the national average.

via Peter J. Lucido - May 5 ---
"The citizens of Michigan have spoken very clearly: They want the roads fixed without raising taxes.
I am introducing a bill Wednesday in the House. This plan has been referred to previously as Plan B. Today I want you to realize it is now called Legislator Lucido’s Plan.
My plan is simply with no confusing parts tied to it. Today the plan could use the annual INTEREST ONLY from the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association which is approximately one billion dollars annually. This is more than enough to get the roads, infrastructure, and transportation repaired and maintained WITHOUT HAVING TO TAX THE FAMILIES OF MICHIGAN.

What are we waiting for? We do not need gridlock and further delays to solve our road dilemmas. Do you agree? Please post your thoughts, share this post, call your legislator, and LET'S GET THESE ROADS FIXED TOGETHER!"

Was Cindy Gamrat Wrongfully Removed From The Republican Caucus?

Add caption
Cindy Gamrat came out swinging today on her Facebook page on what she feels is unjust treatment because she will not play ball as usual in Lansing. She speaks out on her removal from the Republican Caucus for representing the voters.  Here is her post, what are your thoughts?
Good morning!
I am writing this letter because I believe my constituents and the people of Michigan deserve to know the truth about what is going on in Lansing. I came to Lansing to bring transparency and authenticity to the office and to be a strong voice for the people in my district and Michigan. After over two weeks of being held out of caucus, I was finally given the opportunity to meet with Speaker Cotter this past Thursday.

Regarding the multiple breaches of confidentiality that were reported in the paper and used to question my credibility and integrity, the Speaker said that his words were misrepresented and there was not a list of breaches of confidentiality. Instead, he shared with me a short list of complaints regarding courtesy faux pas' that I have made, such as not always letting leadership know ahead of time when I was going to vote "No" on a bill, or not always calling ahead when speaking outside of my district to the representative of that district. This is standard operating procedure in Lansing and Washington and it is clear I have not complied to their satisfaction and have stepped on a few toes.

Had I known the charges, I would have been able to share the innocuous reasons for my imperfect compliance to their standards. For instance regarding letting leadership know ahead of time when I will be voting "No", while I am on the floor or in committee, my first and foremost focus is to make sure I understand the bills to the best of my ability and vote the right way for the people of my district. This means many times right up until the vote I am hearing testimony on a bill, reading fiscal analysis, talking with the sponsor of the bill or looking up further information on it. I cast a "No" vote when I believe the legislation will grow government, cost the taxpayers more money, impede on our freedoms, or is being pushed through rapidly without the time to conduct the research I feel is required for the bill.

And as far as traveling, I have been speaking around the state on a regular basis for the past few years and am now also campaigning for Republican National Committee Woman. Many times my speaking engagements are scheduled with short notice, sometimes I do not know where and when I will be speaking until I look at my schedule the day or two before, and I am also not in the habit of calling ahead for approval before each event.

The other infractions shared with me on Thursday included: asking for a different seat in the beginning of the term, my Facebook posts (these were not discussed in any detail), and requesting the swing of my office door be corrected.

I am truly disappointed that these issues were not brought to my attention along the way and cleared up long ago, especially given that this has been dragging out all the while I am in a campaign for Republican National Committee Woman and during the omnibus and education budget votes. These minor infractions could have been quickly and easily resolved, yet I was tried, convicted, and sentenced by leadership without even given the opportunity to know the charges or defend myself.

Even so, the Lord gives me strength to press on and to continue fighting to pass the torch of liberty and prosperity on to our children and grandchildren. I will continue to stand for limited government so that our future generations can experience opportunity and pursue their dreams without being held back by an overburdensome government. The larger government gets, the less freedom we have and I will continue to be a strong voice for taxpayers in saying the government should live within it's budget and not take more and more money from our families or interfere in the markets by picking winners and losers.

I think there were many other ways to go about this; however, it is up to leadership to decide the type of leaders they will be, how they will lead, and what that will look like in instituting and enforcing compliance of the members. As of this time, I have still not heard back from leadership as to if I am allowed back into caucus.

I am new and maybe I am wrong, but to me the infractions I've made simply don't merit the punishment that I have received. I'm not sure if this happened because they're not sure what to do with a confident nurse/homeschool/soccer mom with a strong voice, or if it's because some are afraid of having a conservative grassroots voice as the next Republican National Committee Woman. Or maybe it is just typical Lansing insider politics. But regardless of the reason, I came to Lansing to bring transparency and shed light and I will not be dissuaded in my responsibility to do that.

So for my constituents, I can assure you that I am doing everything I can to bring a strong voice of transparency, limited government, life, lower taxes, free markets, and individual liberty to continue to earn the trust that you placed in me in my position. I will not turn my back on you but will continue to fight for you. I do not work for Lansing, I work for you, who sent me to Lansing to do the job I said I would do.

And for my fellow Republicans, my belief in American exceptionalism and the values of our Republican platform have not wavered. We have some major battles ahead in this upcoming presidential race and we will need strong and steadfast leadership at the top representing Michigan, and if elected as your next Republican National Committee Woman, I am committed to doing just that.

And to my fellow Representatives, now that you have finally heard the charges against me, you will have to decide in your heart how to respond and what all this means. I did everything in my power to try and resolve this privately, but cannot stand silently by while false accusations are perpetuated against me, and as an extension of that, my district I represent. I will continue to serve with passion and integrity and work with anyone interested in making Michigan stronger, where our children can prosper and raise their families. I appreciate the different voices and thoughts we each bring to the table and believe that only makes us stronger as we consider our steps from various angles. We were each duly elected by the people of our districts and I would hope each be given a voice in the discussion. I look forward in continuing to work with each of you and the debate and discussions we will have in finding solutions to the issues that face our state.

These last few weeks have been trying to be sure, but the hardships I have endured and the arrows I have taken are small in comparison to the men and women who have paid a much higher cost for our freedom, from the Founding Fathers to the men and women who serve in our armed forces. I alone can only do so much, but am still responsible to do what I can to and be obedient where God is calling me. But if we stand together, with God's providence, I believe we can lead the way as a nation of freedom and break the chains of tyranny around the world.

I appreciate your prayers in all of this! May God give us the courage in all circumstances to stand for what is right, and may we be a light to a world with so much darkness!

With Firm Reliance on Divine Providence,
Cindy
